/ 10My time in Vietnam was unforgettable. I had no idea what to expect at a Vietnamese hospital- I wasn’t sure how differently they operated and I was afraid of language barriers. However, everything I experienced was far beyond expectations. Starting from day one, the doctors were extremely welcoming and friendly. You could tell that they cared, and wanted to teach you as much as they can. I was lucky enough to work in all different departments of the hospital. I got to observe numerous surgeries, learn how to do physical therapy on patients, assist with acupuncture and drug administration. It was definitely a once in a lifetime learning opportunity. Best of all, I got to become great friends with the doctors I worked with. It was so wonderful seeing these doctors work long hours always with a smile on their faces and it was touching how much they cared about their patients. I was not only exposed to amazing opportunities that will definitely benefit me in my future career, but I was also able to become part of the family at the hospital. Thanks Love Volunteers, for another great summer!
