“welcomed me in a wonderful way”

General Impression

Overall Rating:    8 / 10

I loved working with the kids. I could learn a lot spending time with them and comparing my childhood with the Ugandan one.
The kids grow up faster because of the responsabilities that they have to take and even if they were more then 10 years younger than me, I was learning every day something new. Not just practical things. I saw the life from another point of view, appreciating also the smallest things. I had a nice time playing with them, doing homework or just talking and eating together.

Country

Ugandan people are always happy and friendly. They welcomed me in a wonderful way, which I won't forget.
The country offers so beautiful things to see. The nature is amazing but also the city/village life had particularities, which make Uganda special. Just the feeling of being there made everything special. Tasty and fresh food is everywhere and at any time of the day!

Project & Staff

The stuff was available for any question that I had before my departure and also during my stay they asked me how things were going!
There are just some points, that I reported and will write down here again:
I was a bit disappointed when I discovered that I would have lived in a school. It was okay for me but I would have loved it if I could have been with a gast family and walk every day to the project place. It was a bit difficult for me to visit the place because there was nobody who could take me out to visit and I was for the whole time just in the school.
I thought that I would have worked every day for the times that were written on the project description but actually I was helping by doing other things till the evening. The only thing is that I thought I would have worked with kids most of the time.
I didn't know that the school was over, so the last week there were no kids anymore.
